Professor Stephen Thomas

Professor Stephen Thomas joined Cass Business School in February 2007, where he is Associate Dean for the MBA programme. Previously Professor of Financial Markets at Southampton University and prior to that at the University of Wales, Swansea. He was Houblon-Norman Fellow at the Bank of England,1988. Professor Thomas is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting and has been ranked 11th in Europe for finance research. He was a Director of Bear Stearns’ Global Alpha macro hedge fund and Firecrest Hambro Investment Management. He is on the education committee for CFA UK, an examiner for their Investment Management Certificate and co-author of the accompanying official training manual.

Professor Andrew Clare

Professor Andrew Clare is Associate Dean and the Professor at Cass Business School. He was a Senior Research Manager in the Monetary Analysis of the Bank of England supporting the work of the Monetary Policy Committee. Andrew was a Financial Economist for Legal and General Investment Management. There he was responsible for the group's investment process and began the development of initial Liability Driven Investment offering. He has published in academic and practitioner journals on various economic and financial market issues. The 2007 survey nominated Andrew to be the world’s ninth most prolific finance author of the past fifty years. Andrew serves on the investment committee of the GEC Marconi pension plan and is a trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Magnox Electric Group Pension scheme.

Mike Davies

Mike Davies has nearly 30 years’ experience in financial services technology for major European and US investments banks. Mike is the Chief Innovation Officer for Trafigura, the world's second largest commodities traders and is responsible for investigating the change that renewable energy will have on commodities trading and investments. Previously he was Group CIO for Trafigura and prior to this, was CIO of SwapsWire one of the early Fintech start-ups in the OTC derivatives market, and recently invested $6m in a Belgium-based business called Young and Partners. Mike is a Sheffield University alumnus and holds a PhD and BSc in Chemistry.

Edward Shnayder

Edward Shnayder is a Silicon Valley veteran, who recently held executive positions with Aspect Enterprise Solutions and Kit Digital. Edward now serves as Chairman of Midas Colloboration Technologies, managing its core engineering centre, Distributed Computing Technologies. He was one of the first employees at TIBCO Software and later Vitria Technology in their early pre-IPO stages. He is an investor in multiple start-ups, including Cingo and Linius. He holds a MSc and Ph.D. ABD in Applied Math and Computer Science from South Ural State University.

Stefano Nora

Stefano Nora is a Senior Investment Manager at Pictet Asset Management. He is responsible for the management of a global fund and works as an analyst for the financials sector. Previously he was with JP Morgan Asset Management in London and at Pioneer Investments in Dublin. He is an angel investor for several start-up companies including fintech, technology and food. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Michael Smurfit Business School in Dublin and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Steven M Henderson

Steven M Henderson is Group Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer at Hashoo Group. He supports promoting the potential of Pakistan and its people and works on the development of new divisions for the Group –mining, retail, aviation, wellness as well as seeking joint venture opportunities to bring foreign investment to Pakistan. Steve, a Law Graduate, has over 32 years of experience at senior positions across several industries, including general management, management consultancy, and procurement/supply chain roles. He has worked in Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia advising 4 governments on Tourism Strategy and delivering brand development projects in 39 countries. Steven has worked for high net worth individuals, privately-owned companies and conglomerates, including Hilton International and Compass Group PLC.
